Oh no...an ITB injury!? I got that one when I ran my first half-marathon. Take it easy, Mandars...get it healed and rest lots before the race. My amateur advice would be if the injuries don't subside to even skip the 19 km or 21 km run, because if you can run 15.9 km, you can do the remaining 5.1 km because of the adrenaline on race-day!

But I'm so proud of you that you are doing this! Wish I could be there to cheer you on!

    Thanks miss ham.
Are you sure i'll be able to do 21k without a practice run? I did 17.6km today...tried to sprint the last 2km and my body is currently hating me.

Yes...I'm sure. When I prepared for my full marathon (which twice the distance), my longest run was 32 km (10 km shy of the 42 km or 26 miles). And I was able to finish without any issues.

When you're doing long distance training, you have to be sure to not overtrain and also allow sufficient time and rest for your legs to recover. You should be declining your miles, esp. since your race is so soon.

Get lots of rest. Rest. Ice. Compress. Elevate. But I don't need to tell you this...you are the expert after all, PT. Can't wait to hear the results. Enjoy your time. Finish strong!
